Mitch Marine has been playing with bands since the 8th grade (his first band was called Black Pearl). He attended North Texas University (in his current hometown of Denton, TX) for one year as a music major before hooking up with the band Brave Combo. He spent about 10 years with the band, also doing side projects with acts such as Andy Timmons, Sarah Hickman, Trout Fishing in America, David Byrne, the Pawn Kings, and several Cajun and country acts (he also played bass guitar for some of these acts). He played with Dallas alternative act Tripping Daisy for about two years, and was producing an album for a country act when he got the opportunity to play with Smash Mouth. The Smash Mouth gig lasted about a year, terminating in the summer of 2000 because the "hired musician" (rather than full-fledged band member) status imposed upon Mitch by the band was not working out for either side.

Mitch has spent the past year in Los Angeles, playing relentlessly in the country rock scene that is fast growing in popularity there. He just landed a spot on tour with country act Dwight Yoakam...he will be hitting the road in June 2003.

In his spare time, Mitch manages a celebrity golf team, Team Mars, which includes members of the bands Buckcherry, the Goo Goo Dolls, Kid Rock, LIT. He's looking for the next great music project to come along.
